讲授者简介
Zeyuan Qiu（邱泽元）教授是美国新泽西理工大学科学与人文艺术学院&管理学院教授。他长期从事水资源与水环境经济学相关理论与实证研究，包括识别水文敏感和关键源区并应用于流域恢复、洪水管理和可持续土地利用规划和管理；流域恢复和水资源管理中各种最佳管理实践和洪水基础设施的效果和成本有效性评估；气候和土地利用变化对农业生产力、水资源可得性和水质的影响评估，及各种减缓和适应策略的有效性评估；可持续农村住宅与社区规划设计等。在Water Policy、Journal of the American Water Resources Association、Water、Journal of Soil and Water Conservation、Environmental Management等国际知名的SSCI/SCI检索源期刊上发表学术论文60余篇，出版专著或书章节10余部。
2.课程简介
This course overviews the complex, dynamic interactions between economy and environment from biological, economic, and institutional perspectives and various views for solving the conflicts in resource management and pollution control; and discuss the basic principles of cost-benefit and cost-effective analyses in resource management and pollution control. The course primarily focuses on the core economic principles of pollution control policies and their applications to solving air and water pollution and waste management. Through lecturing, in-class discussions and off-class assignments, the students are expected to learn the basic economic principles and techniques and an economic way of critical thinking to understand the contemporary environmental problems and environmental policies.
